His next fight saw him take on the very talented Toby Smith from Australia in a three round Muay Thai Combat Mania YOKKAO fight. He lost a controversial decision to Smith but was able to redeem his reputation with a points win over Fabio Pinca on the La Nuit des Titans Tour event the following month in France.

He participated in the IFMAs in 2014 and took home the gold for his country at 71kgs.Since then Thongchai has mainly been fighting on the international stage and recently beat current Rajadamnern belt holder Youssef Broughanem on the Best of Siam 5 show in Paris France with a third round TKO. He also fought Adrien Rubis in China on a Topking World Series event and most recently has begun to fight on Glory Promotions like his stable mate Sitthichai Sitsongpeenong.

According to his manager at Sitsongpeenong, Thongchai is addicted to gambling and cock fighting. “He's got his own little chicken farm. That's where he goes when he runs away at weekends. I can't really stop him, he's a hard guy to control. He's crazy for gambling. There's a dice game called High-Low and he gambles on the fights but his main thing is the chicken fights,” the manager said.

Thongchai is a charismatic fighter who can be mean spirited when he fights. He is always looking to finish his fights by KO and in his last 21 fights he has ended 11 inside the distance via KO or TKO. He has been nicknamed the Thai Terminator. He is said to lack discipline when training unlike Sitthichai and is soon up for the military draft in Thailand. Every Thai man in the country is up for draft with 1 in 4 having to enter the service for several years.

He has a record of 169 fights with 135 wins and 34 losses.
